WILDFLOWER-BOOT-PALEYELLOW

Wildflowers come in by the fistful, picked from the edge of the yard or the side of the road. Then they go in a jelly jar, because a proper vase makes them look like they're trying too hard.

This is a vase shaped like a rain boot. A bow sits at the top of the shaft, raised flowers climb up both sides on long stems, and the sole has a chunky tread underneath. I print it in pale yellow PLA in my studio.

Why a boot. A tall glass vase holds a loose handful of daisies upright in a stiff column, and the stems look thin against all that glass. The boot's wide opening lets the bunch fall open the way it did in your hand, and the opaque sides hide the stems entirely. The flowers are the whole show.

  • Material: PLA
  • Finish: Pale Yellow
  • Form: Rain boot vase with a bow, raised floral relief on both sides and a lug-tread sole
  • Made: Printed in my studio in Western North Carolina
  • Care: Dust with a soft, dry brush or cloth. No dishwasher.

Straight talk. It isn't watertight. For fresh flowers, put a small glass jar or liner inside first; dried, preserved or faux stems can go straight in. PLA starts to soften around 140°F, which a car in summer or a sunny windowsill can reach, so keep it out of both, and don't use it with real candles. Flowers aren't included, and it's a vase, not footwear. It's decor, not a kit: no drills, no canvas, no tools. You'll see fine layer lines up close, and no two come out identical.

The jelly jar can go back to holding jelly.
