Frequently Asked Questions – Jeanne Argent
Good questions deserve honest answers. Here's what we hear most often, answered as plainly and personally as we can.
What makes Jeanne Argent kits different from the diamond painting kits I see everywhere online?
Every design we sell is either commercially licensed or original artwork, and we're transparent about which is which. Our drills are DMC-coded for true colour accuracy, and our kits are full-drill, meaning the entire canvas is covered for a finished piece you'll actually want to hang. We're a small studio in Western North Carolina, not a warehouse clearing overstock. Each order is packed by hand, with care.
What comes in a Jeanne Argent diamond painting kit?
Each kit includes a printed adhesive canvas, pre-sorted DMC-coded diamond drills, a diamond painting pen, wax, a drill tray, and clear instructions. Everything you need to start is in the box. For extras like light pads or specialty pens, check our accessories collection.
What does "DMC-coded" mean, and why does it matter?
DMC codes are a universal colour-numbering system originally developed for embroidery floss. Each of the 447+ colours has a unique code, so if you ever run short on a particular shade, you can reorder matching drills from any compatible supplier. It also means colours stay consistent across kits and batches, which matters when you're investing hours in a piece.
Should I choose round drills or square drills?
Round drills are a bit faster to place and more forgiving if you're newer to diamond painting. Square drills fit together edge to edge, creating a mosaic-like finish with no gaps, which many experienced crafters prefer for display pieces. We note the drill shape on every kit listing so you always know what you're getting.
How long does it take to finish a kit?
A rough guide is about one hour per palm-sized section of canvas. Smaller or simpler designs might take a few relaxed evenings; larger, more detailed canvases can stretch across several weeks. That's part of the appeal. There's no deadline. It's your quiet time.
What are The Tool Keeper™ and The Original Canvas Keeper?
These are proprietary accessories we designed and have manufactured in China. The Tool Keeper™ organizes your pens, wax, and trays so nothing rolls off the table mid-session. The Original Canvas Keeper helps you store and protect unfinished canvases without creasing or dust. The Tool Keeper is in stock and ships in 2–3 days. The Original Canvas Keeper is currently being manufactured.
Are your 3D-printed products made in-house?
Yes, every 3D-printed tool and décor item is produced in our studio in Western North Carolina. We print to order, which means there's a short production window before shipping, but it also means zero waste and full quality control on every single piece. No middlemen, no overseas factories.
What is your shipping policy?
We offer free US shipping on orders over $100. Orders under that threshold ship at the rate shown at checkout, with no surprise fees. Because many items are made to order, please allow a few extra business days for production before your package heads out. We'll keep you updated along the way.
What are AB drills, and do your kits include them?
AB (Aurora Borealis) drills carry a standard DMC colour code but have an iridescent coating that produces a subtle, rainbow-like shimmer. They're typically used as accents to add depth and light to specific areas of a design. When a kit includes AB drills, we note it clearly in the product description.
Where can I learn more about diamond painting techniques and care?
Our blog has a growing library of guides covering everything from canvas storage and drill sourcing to finishing and framing your completed work. We write them ourselves, based on what we've learned running the studio and what our customers ask most. No filler, no fluff, just practical information from one crafter to another.
