Most houses have one nice vase. It's crystal, it was a wedding present, and it's too tall for anything you'd actually pick from the garden.

This one is shorter and wider. It's a many-sided vase with a beaded band around the top and the bottom, and every side is a framed panel with scrolled corners. The front panels carry a raised leaf sprig. A short collar at the top holds the stems together. I print it in pastel periwinkle PLA in my studio.

Why the panels. A round vase looks the same from every direction, which sounds like an advantage until you notice it never has a front. The flat, framed sides give this one a front, a back and corners, so it reads like a piece of furniture on the table instead of a container. Turn it until the sprig faces the room.

  • Material: PLA
  • Finish: Pastel Periwinkle
  • Form: Paneled, many-sided vase with beaded bands, scroll-framed panels, raised leaf sprigs and a short collar
  • Made: Printed in my studio in Western North Carolina
  • Care: Dust with a soft, dry brush or cloth. No dishwasher.

Straight talk. It isn't watertight. For fresh flowers, put a small glass jar or liner inside first; dried, preserved or faux stems can go straight in. PLA starts to soften around 140°F, which a car in summer or a sunny windowsill can reach, so keep it out of both, and don't use it with real candles. Flowers aren't included. It's decor, not a kit: no drills, no canvas, no tools. You'll see fine layer lines up close, and no two come out identical.

The crystal one can stay in the china cabinet.
