Cobalt and mint gerbera daisies open side by side, and blue morpho butterflies drift through them, wings catching the light against streaked, weathered wood. The palette stays cool the whole way across — teal, seafoam, cobalt, a little bone-white where the highlights land. Nothing in it fights for attention, which is rather the point.

Twenty-one DMC colors (163 through 3842) is a generous range at this size, and it's what lets the butterfly wings shade properly instead of stepping from one blue to the next. At 45cm the daisy petals are large enough to place without squinting.

Roughly 25 to 30 hours, so plan on three or four weeks of evenings. Round drills are the forgiving kind, which makes this a good second or third kit and an ambitious first one. The canvas ships rolled — unroll it under something flat overnight before you start. No frame included.

Then it hangs somewhere the afternoon light reaches it, and it goes on doing for the room what the colors did for you while you made it.
