Best 3D Printed Halloween Decor: 8 Pieces From Our Studio

Halloween decor from a 3D printer can do something a store-bought plastic pumpkin rarely does: hold a small light behind a cut-out face, or sit by the front door with a bowl of wrapped candy and a bit of personality. We print every piece below in PLA in our studio in Alexander, North Carolina.
This shortlist covers the Halloween pieces we actually make, sorted by the job each one does: a lit shape for a window or mantel, a candy bowl for trick-or-treaters, or a blank you paint yourself. Each entry says what comes in the box, especially whether an LED candle is included, because that detail is easy to miss.
Quick answer: The best 3D printed Halloween decor reads as Halloween from across the room and has a clear job, such as holding a battery LED light or a bowl of wrapped candy. From our studio, start with the Ghost Votive Holder or the Witch Hat Votive Holder for a lit display, the Jack-o'-Lantern Candy Bowl for the front door, and the unpainted Moon Phase Witch if you want to paint your own. Use LED lights only, never a real flame.

How we chose these pieces
- It reads as Halloween. Ghosts, pumpkins, witches and bones, rather than general autumn or woodland shapes that need extra styling before they say October.
- It has a job. Each piece holds an LED light, holds wrapped candy, or gives you something to paint.
- The light source is clear. We note which pieces include a warm white LED votive and batteries, and which need you to supply your own LED tealight or votive.
1. Ghost Votive Holder: best for a friendly glow
The Ghost Votive Holder is the gentlest piece in the collection: a small ghost with his arms flung wide, soft draping folds, and two oval eyes cut through the front. The open base seats the warm white LED votive that comes with it, so the eyes light from within.
He is printed in matte white PLA and arrives with the LED votive and a pack of batteries, ready to use. Expect a candle-level glow rather than room light. He works best where people see him up close: a windowsill, a hall table, or next to the candy bowl.
Price: $22.99. In the box: holder, LED votive and batteries.
2. Witch Hat Votive Holder: best for a mantel silhouette
The Witch Hat Votive Holder is a tall, softly bent hat in matte black PLA, with stars, crescent moons and lightning bolts cut through the crown and a ring of small moons and stars around the wide scalloped brim. With the LED votive on, the cut-outs scatter small points of light. With it off, the black shape still reads clearly against a pale wall.
It is the lowest-priced lit piece on this list and includes the holder, one warm white LED votive and a free pack of batteries. Wipe it clean with a dry cloth, and keep it out of direct sun and away from heat sources.
Price: $19.99. In the box: holder, LED votive and batteries.
3. Mini Jack-o'-Lantern Votive Set of 4: best for a table or windowsill row
Four small pumpkins, each with its own face: Wink, Goof, X-Eyes and Grump. Each is about 3.5 inches tall and 3.5 inches wide, printed in bold orange PLA with ribbed sides and a wide open top. The Mini Jack-o'-Lantern Votive Set of 4 comes with four warm white LED votives and CR2032 batteries.
A row of four fills a dinner table, a windowsill or a stair landing better than one larger piece would. The set is printed to order, so give it extra lead time (see the ordering note below).
Price: $29.99 for the set of four. In the box: four holders, four LED votives and batteries. Made to order.
4. Samhain Pumpkin Tealight Holder: best gothic statement piece
The Samhain Pumpkin Tealight Holder is the most dramatic piece we print for Halloween: a tall matte black pillar with a carved-looking pumpkin face at its center, baroque flame-work curling up the column, and a second small pumpkin tucked into the scrollwork near the scalloped base. Each one takes roughly six hours on the printer.
The matte finish keeps the relief crisp, so the carving throws shadows once the room goes dark. The wide dished top holds a standard flameless LED tealight, which you supply; no candle or batteries come with it. The set of two is made for flanking a mirror or anchoring both ends of a mantel.
Price: $24.99 single, $42.99 for a set of 2. In the box: the holder or holders only. Add your own LED tealight.
5. Moon Phase Witch Votive Holder: best to paint yourself
A storybook witch in a pointed hat and long cloak, holding a round plate above her head that is ringed with the eight phases of the moon. The Moon Phase Witch Votive Holder stands about 6.9 inches tall with the plate in place and arrives unpainted in matte white PLA, so the colors are yours to choose.
It takes acrylic craft paint well; finish it with a matte spray sealer. The center ring fits a standard 1.5 inch LED votive (up to about 1.6 inches wide), which is not included, and there is no paint or brush in the box. It is printed to order.
Price: $34.99. In the box: the unpainted holder. Made to order.
6. Jack-o'-Lantern Candy Bowl: best for the front door
A wide-grinning pumpkin with its mouth propped open, printed in bold orange PLA with a green stem. The Jack-o'-Lantern Candy Bowl comes in two sizes: Mini, about 4.3 inches tall and 4 inches wide, and Full Size, about 7.5 inches tall and 6.7 inches wide. You can also buy one of each as a set. The cut-out eyes, brows and mouth let light through.
Use it for wrapped candy, individually packaged treats and small trinkets only, because the bowl is not intended for direct food contact. It is printed to order in the size you pick.
Price: $19.99 Mini, $24.99 Full Size, $34.99 for the set of two. Made to order.
7. Skeleton Hands Candy Bowl: best for a party table
Two bony hands cupped together into a deep bowl, with sculpted knuckles and finger joints and fingers that curl up to form the rim. The Skeleton Hands Candy Bowl is printed and finished by hand in matte white PLA with no gloss, so it looks more like bone than plastic.
This is a bowl, not a light holder, so no real candles go in it, ever. Fill it with wrapped treats only, since the filament is not safe for food contact, and hand wash it with mild soap and cool water. Keep it away from direct heat, hot cars and open flame. It arrives empty.
Price: $27.99.
8. Seasonal Cam Decor, Spooky Cam: best small project with kids
A pretend camera, not a working one, wearing a crooked witch hat, with drippy lettering and two bats. The Seasonal Cam Decor in its Spooky Cam option is printed in plain white PLA in two pieces, a camera body and a base, so you can paint each part separately. The raised letters, hat trim and lens ring are easy to pick out with a small brush, which makes it a manageable paint job for children helping out.
It arrives white, with no paint, brushes or glue in the box. Because the camera lifts off the base, treat it as a shelf decoration rather than a toy for small children. The same listing offers Elf Cam and Santa Cam options for December.
Price: $12.99.
For a quieter look: Crescent Moon Votive Holder
If you want something moody that can stay out after October, the Crescent Moon Votive Holder is a slender waxing crescent that cradles an LED votive along its inner edge. It is not Halloween imagery, which is the point: it suits a night-sky corner all year. It comes in six finishes, from Charcoal Black to Cotton White, and includes a warm white LED votive and a pack of CR2032 batteries. Each one is made to order and takes roughly ten hours to print, so allow extra time. It costs $45.
LED lights only: the safety rule for printed decor
Every piece on this list is printed in PLA, a plastic that softens with heat. Our product listings say it plainly: use battery-operated LED candles only, because a real flame or a lit wax candle will warp, melt or ignite the plastic. A candle-shaped recess is sized for an LED, not a flame. The National Fire Protection Association's Halloween safety tips make the same general point, recommending glow sticks or battery-operated candles for jack-o'-lanterns and other decorations.
- Use the LED votive that comes with the piece, or a standard flameless LED tealight or votive where the listing says to supply your own.
- Keep printed pieces out of direct sun and away from heaters, fireplaces, hot cars and other heat sources.
- Keep the candy bowls to wrapped treats. None of these pieces is meant for direct food contact.
- Store spare coin batteries, such as the CR2032s that come with the Mini Jack-o'-Lantern set and the Crescent Moon, out of children's reach. The National Capital Poison Center says to get help immediately if anyone swallows a button battery.
Order early for October 31
If you want pieces in place for Halloween, order in September or by the first week of October. Orders are packed in our studio in 2 to 5 business days and sent by USPS, usually arriving about 5 to 8 days later. Shipping within the US is $5.95 on orders under $20, $8.95 from $20 to $99.99, and free on orders of $100 or more.
Four pieces on this list, the Mini Jack-o'-Lantern set, the Jack-o'-Lantern Candy Bowl, the Moon Phase Witch and the Crescent Moon, are printed after you order, so they need extra time before they are packed. Added together, an order placed in the second half of October may not arrive by the 31st. Made-to-order pieces can be returned only if they arrive damaged or faulty; the full terms are on our Shipping and Returns page.
When October is over, our guide to 3D printed Christmas decor covers the winter pieces we print.
Frequently asked questions
Can I put a real candle in 3D printed Halloween decor?
No. Our pieces are printed in PLA, which softens with heat, and a real flame or lit wax candle can warp, melt or ignite it. Use battery-operated LED candles only.
Which pieces come with an LED candle?
The Ghost Votive Holder, the Witch Hat Votive Holder, the Mini Jack-o'-Lantern Votive Set of 4 and the Crescent Moon Votive Holder all include warm white LED votives and batteries. The Samhain Pumpkin Tealight Holder fits a standard LED tealight and the Moon Phase Witch fits a standard 1.5 inch LED votive, but you supply the light for both.
Are the candy bowls safe for candy?
They are for wrapped candy and individually packaged treats only. Neither the Jack-o'-Lantern Candy Bowl nor the Skeleton Hands Candy Bowl is meant for direct food contact.
Can I paint the pieces?
The Moon Phase Witch Votive Holder and the Spooky Cam arrive unpainted in white PLA so you can paint them. For the witch, the listing recommends acrylic craft paint finished with a matte spray sealer. The other pieces arrive in their finished colors.
When should I order so my decor arrives before Halloween?
Order in September or by the first week of October. Packing takes 2 to 5 business days and USPS delivery usually about 5 to 8 days more, and made-to-order pieces need extra print time first.
